We were founded in 2001 when Stephen began collecting scraps of wood left over from various contracting projects and using them to create wonderfully creative presentation platters. That was the first step towards A Cut Above Design. Soon he began laboring over more and more cutting boards, each one increasing in creativity. From there, Stephen’s passion for woodworking spread to the rest of the family. Over the past few years David has been honing his skills at the lathe creating remarkable wood turnings. The scroll saw is Rachel’s tool of choice and for good reason. She has produced many intricate puzzles and carvings that are valued by all ages. Laurie’s, too, has learned to wood turn and in the process produced lovely bud vases and bottle stoppers.
